Every government official’s door should remain open for citizens, Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said yesterday at a meeting with a number of ministers and senior officials including mainly Shura and Representatives’ Councils Chairmen Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani who extended to him Eid greetings and best wishes of good health and happiness. Shaikh Khalifa urged to devote time and efforts for the service of the nation and its people by shunning bureaucracy and taking the initiative to step in, visit work sites, assess citizens’ needs and reach out to them.
Living in a world of economic changes and being part of the global economic texture, although Bahrain financial institutions, unlike their counterparts in many other countries, could escape the brunt of the global crisis thanks to the Kingdom’s wise policies, regulations to protect the economy have yet to be taken, the Premier stressed.
Such repercussions require local preemptive policies through cooperation among various executive, legislative and economic establishments as well as collective GCC coordination through unified policies, he explained.
The implementation of many development plans are lying ahead of the Kingdom and nothing should impede this tendency, Shaikh Khalifa stressed urging to maintain security and stability in Bahrain to safeguard its status as an economic and investment destination.
Bahrain’s economic, political, social and educational achievements have won local and international respect and admiration, the Prime Minister pointed out.
No one will be allowed to exploit the climate of freedom to undermine security and cripple the Kingdom’s development process; he added lauding businessmen’s role and the private sectors contribution to the national economy.
He also commended every pen and opinion confronting attempts to mar realities lauding citizens’ awareness and capabilities to protect the national interest.
