Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday welcomed the call launched by some political bodies in the Kingdom for not politicising things. The Prime Minister considered this a step towards the right path. The Premier noted the importance of the Ramadhan majalis in exchanging views and opinions on national and international issues.
This is in addition to their role of enhancing the social fabric.
Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was speaking in the presence of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa and Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh.
At the meeting, the Premier affirmed that Bahraini citizens’ needs are the priorities of the government.
“Nothing else would come before appropriate housing and advanced educational, health and social services for the people of this country,” the Premier said.
The Prime Minister said that the government had great interest in improving service sector.
“Upgrading services is proceeding in rapid steps,” the premier said, adding: “There was strenuous government effort so that citizens would receive better services.”
Speaking on the health impact of certain activities of services, the Prime Minister asserted that the health of people and the safety of their environment was more important than anything else.
“Hence the government is keen on maintaining the balance between development requirements and safety and health standards,” he said.
The Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also received newly appointed ambassadors of the Kingdom.
They were Ambassador to Turkey, Dr Ibrahim Yousif Al Abdullah, Ambassador to Iraq Aalah Ali Al Maliki and Ambassador to Syria Abdul Rahman Mubarak Al Sulaiti.
The Premier congratulated the Ambassadors on their diplomatic posts and affirmed that there was great confidence in that they would continue with the balanced diplomatic approach for which Bahraini foreign policy has always been known.
The Premier urged the new Ambassadors to work on highlighting the openness of Bahrain and its economic and commercial attributes and also to have initiatives towards exploring new areas of cooperation with the countries they will represent in Bahrain.
“The strong foundation Bahrain has established for its relations with Turkey, Syria and Iraq will make their task easier in these countries and will also contribute to creating many cooperation opportunities,” the premier said.
He wished the new Ambassadors success in their diplomatic duties. The Ambassadors also pledged to represent Bahrain in the best way possible.
