THE Premier yesterday vowed to combat any price speculation. "The government is intensifying inspections and controls to ensure prices' stability," he told senior government officials at Gudaibiya Palace.
High Islamic Council president Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa and Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh also attended.
He also stressed the importance of resorting to scientific studies and compiled data to cope with such developments.
The Premier reiterated the government's keenness to meet growing needs resulting from the urban and development boom, particularly construction materials.
The private sector was praised for seeking to diversify suppliers and avert any acute shortages.
He also praised the crucial role of businessmen in spearheading development, calling for their success stories to be highlighted in the media.
He paid tribute to all Bahrainis contributing to nation building.
